perran2011

We had a great day at Perranporth arriving at 11 am for a relaxing cup of coffee and game of snooker before our lunch. After lunch we played the COG round, just 18 holes today which was better for the oldies - gone are the days of 36 and 27 holes!

The weather was good to us - pity really as we would have enjoyed a stronger wind for that extra challenge - not!

The hospitality at the club was excellent again and the food was up to the usual high standard.

Thank you to all at Perranporth for a great course, fantastic greens and for looking after us. Anyone not yet played there must do so, you will have a great day!

Check out the results below:-

Perranporth is a fantastic links course which was laid out by Open Champion James Braid in 1927. Perranporth is quite simply one of the best links courses in Britain. Senior Tour golfer Brian Waites is a regular visitor here and in his opinion this course is within the top 5 in Europe.

The staff were very welcoming, the clubhouse very comfortable and the food was excellent as always.

The wind, cliff top views & extremely fast greens are not for the faint hearted, but once you have played here you will find yourself yearning to play it again! It is a joy to play as a lot of the shots are blind. You find yourself aiming at a white post on a hill and hoping the guy who put it there knew what he was doing. This course is a certain test of your golfing ability.
